🍷American Booze Back in Salisbury

Remember when N.B. Liquor yanked American bottles during the Trump tariff tiff? Turns out $3.4 million worth of bourbon, wine, and whiskey’s been sitting around ever since. Now it’s all being offloaded at the Salisbury depot.

So if you’re heading to or from Moncton, make a diplomatic pit stop. Stock up on Kentucky bourbon, grab a California cab, and help Al Cool clear some shelf space.

🥁Powwow Returns to TD Station

The drums are warming up again as the Menahqesk Traditional Wabanaki Powwow returns to TD Station on Saturday, October 25. After making history last year with Saint John’s first-ever powwow, the one-day celebration is back with dancing, singing, and a full Powwow Market starting at 10am.

Grand Entry begins at noon with the Eastern Eagle Singers leading the way, joined by visiting drum groups from across the region. This year also shines a spotlight on four youth head dancers being honoured for their leadership.

Everyone’s welcome, admission’s free.

🦃Turkey and tourists

While most of us will be carving turkey and arguing over stuffing recipes, the Port will be carving through crowds instead. Three cruise ships sail in Sunday, Majestic Princess, Vision of the Seas, and Crystal Serenity, with more than 6,000 passengers on board. Monday brings two more, Brilliance of the Seas and Seven Seas Splendor, adding another 3,000.

Passport to Parks Rockwood | October 11

Bear Grease the Musical | October 11
Catch the Off-Broadway debut of Bear Grease the Musical at the Imperial Theatre, Saturday night. This all-Indigenous, laugh-out-loud show reimagines Grease with powwow-step, hip hop, bold storytelling, and traditional languages. Fresh, fearless, and hilarious, it’s a cultural joyride that will have you dancing in your seat and laughing out loud. Don’t miss this unique blend of music, comedy, and vibrant performance.

Superstars of Wrestling | October 11
Catch a night of heavyweight action at the Irving Oil Field House this Saturday at Clash of the Titans, featuring Dick Durning, Wesley Pipes, Alex Robbins, Rudy Lockhart, and more. VIP doors open at 6pm with the first bell at 6:15pm, general doors at 6:30pm with the main event starting at 7pm. Tickets are available at local vendors, and the card is packed with surprises for wrestling fans of all ages.

Queen Square Farmers Market | October 12
It’s the final Queen Square Farmers Market of the season this Sunday, October 12. Stop by to pick up your favourite Sunday treats, fresh veggies, eggs, and a bouquet of flowers while soaking in all the cozy fall vibes. Don’t forget, next Saturday brings the Queen Square Fine Craft Festival, so mark your calendars for more local goodies and festive fun.

WHERE WERE WE WEDNESDAY? 📸

📍On Wednesday, we shared a close-up photo of a local sculpture and got a ton of guesses, with most people thinking it was somewhere along Harbour Passage. And while you were kinda right, only Shawna M., Edgar D. and Bill G. nailed it. The piece is called Love 8 by artist Patrick Sullivan, part of the Sculpture Trail, but it’s actually in Queen Square West. Thanks for all the responses, and maybe take advantage of the long weekend to check out a few sculptures you don’t usually see.
