Good morning, Saint John! A Fredericton mom is in line for a Guinness World Record after running a one-kilometre race while pushing a stroller in just over three minutes. Meanwhile most of us are still trying to figure out how to collapse the stroller without pinching a finger…🏃♀️
Here’s what else is rollin’ around this morning:
Grass is back, back again…🌱
Time to show off your art 🖌️
Saint John goes green this weekend ☘️
Have a fantastic weekend!

These days are RVR Days!
Some car ads whisper. But not this one!
The RVR is Mitsubishi’s compact SUV that somehow checks every box. Sporty look, smart tech, and one of the best on gas in the country. Perfect for Saint John winters, grocery runs, hockey gear, and everything else life throws in the back seat.
The only catch is...when March ends, this deal ends.
So if your current vehicle has started making new and exciting noises every morning, this might be the sign.
NEWS NOTES
🌊 River Watch season begins
As you start spotting larger patches of grass in the backyard each morning, the ice and snow along New Brunswick’s rivers are beginning to move too.
The province’s annual River Watch program is now underway, monitoring river ice, snowmelt and water levels as spring conditions begin to shift. That includes the Saint John River basin, where officials track changes in temperature, rainfall and ice movement to spot potential flooding risks early.
Teams will be watching river conditions closely over the coming weeks, with daily forecasts and updates posted through the province’s River Watch platform as the spring freshet season unfolds.
Officials say New Brunswick has avoided major flooding in recent years, but river conditions can change quickly this time of year, particularly as warmer weather accelerates snowmelt.
So River Watch continues… but it won’t be too long ’til you get a call from that friend with a boat asking if ya wanna take a rip to Yip!
🎨 Art With Heart looking for local artists
Local artists are being invited to take part in Art With Heart, a community fine arts sale happening April 18 at the Diamond Jubilee Cruise Ship Terminal.
The one-day event will showcase local artwork while raising funds for P.R.O. Kids Saint John, the program that helps ensure kids in the region can take part in sports, arts, and recreation activities regardless of family finances.
Artist tables are $50, with space for up to 20 pieces, and organizers are asking artists to contribute 15% of sales back to the program. Applications are open until April 11.

EVENTS
What’s Happenin’
What we’re doing this weekend
The 36th Annual Irish Breakfast | March 14
O’Leary’s Pub hosts its 36th Annual Irish Breakfast on Saturday, March 14 from 9am-1pm at 46 Princess Street in Saint John. The event supports L’Arche Saint John and includes live performances by Comhaltas, with food provided by Big Tide Brewing Co. Breakfast is $14 for adults and $10 for children. If your ideal Saturday involves pancakes, music, and leaning hard into St. Patrick’s season before noon, here you go.
Underground Pottery Show at Handworks | March 14
Handworks Gallery is wrapping up its five-day Underground Pottery Show today, opening up the gallery’s basement space for a rare look at pieces the public hasn’t seen before. Running 10am-4pm at the King Street gallery, the show features experimental work, one-off pieces, and pottery that didn’t quite fit into artists’ usual collections. Some are brand new releases, others the final works from artists no longer producing. As Gallery President Elizabeth Cook told us, it’s “a mixed bag” and a good spot to hunt for that mug that somehow makes your morning coffee taste even better.
Spring Market | March 14
The Quispamsis Lions Club is hosting a Spring Market on Saturday, March 14 from 9am-1pm at 9 Market Street, behind Foodland. The market promises homemade goods, treats, crafts, and a bit of everything else, with free admission and parking. There will also be a 50/50 and raffle tied to vendor donations, with proceeds supporting the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides program. Good excuse to browse around and call it productive.
Leprechaun Leap | March 14
Saint John’s St. Patrick’s celebrations go full tilt with the Leprechaun Leap, a choose-your-own adventure across 17 uptown venues featuring live local music, themed specials, and plenty of green along the way. Participants pick up tokens redeemable for select drinks, with some spots also offering food or non-alcoholic options, all while raising funds for surgical excellence initiatives at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Use promo code SJTODAY10 at checkout for a subscriber discount.
Shamrock Shuffle | March 15
The 33rd annual Shamrock Shuffle goes Sunday, March 15 at 11am, starting at Picaroons General Store on Canterbury Street. Organized by Alex P Coffin and Katherine Ferguson, the event is a 3km out-and-back run or walk along Harbour Passage, with a $20 entry fee supporting Red Head Stray Cats. Chili and rolls are promised back at Picaroons afterward, dogs are welcome, and yes, wearing green is very much part of the assignment.
Port City Power vs Tri-City Tide | March 15
Port City Power takes on the Tri-City Tide on Sunday, March 15 from 3-5pm at UNB Saint John. The game is being pitched as a family-friendly afternoon of fast-paced basketball, with general admission and courtside seating available. Youth tickets start at $12, adults at $18, and courtside seats are $40 before fees. For anyone in the mood for some local sports energy without making a whole day of it, this is a pretty easy sell.

WHERE WERE WE WEDNESDAY? 📸

📍On Wednesday we shared this snap of Jedi Master Yoda and asked if you knew where he was hiding in the city… and let’s just say the Force wasn’t with most of you. Only Edgar D. (or should we call him Luke?) correctly identified the spot…the Bowlarama arcade on the west side. We’ll give the rest of you another shot next week.
