NEWS NOTES
Donāt Panic, Itās Only a Drill! šØ
Heads up! Today, at 10:55 AM, your phone is about to get a workout with a national test of the Alert Ready system. Donāt worry, itās not an alien invasion or a 90s techno revival (although weād be on board for that). Itās just a test!
The Alert Ready system sends life-saving info through TV, radio, and your phone. So when you hear that unmistakable tone, donāt panicāitās only a test (unless youāre still using a flip phone, then... maybe itās time to upgrade).
Got a minute? Take a quick survey to help improve the systemābut please, donāt call 911 for non-emergencies. Stay safe, stay aware, and remember, your phoneās superpower is real.
Shop Uptown, Have It Delivered š
Shopping local just got easierāUptown shops are coming to your door! From now through December, shop ātil you drop (your phone, or maybe your coffee) and have those fabulous finds delivered straight to your home. No pants required! šļø
Hereās the scoop - Spend $25 at participating Uptown businesses, and Uptown SJ will bring your goodies right to your doorstep in Saint John, Quispamsis, Grand Bay, and Lorneville. And remember, no fresh baked good deliveriesāonly non-perishables!
So, check with your favs, shop ātil you drop, and let Uptown SJ handle the heavy liftingāliterally. Also, please wear pants when the delivery shows upā¦
The Mrs. Roper Rumble š
Come and knock on our doorāthis partyās for you! Saturday night the Moss Glen Legion in Kingston is the place to be for the grooviest party of the year! The Mrs. Roper Rumble invites you to break out your best kaftan, channel your favourite sitcom vibes, and join a night packed with late ā70s and early ā80s music, a Regal Beagle cash bar, snacks, prizes, a photo booth (courtesy of Reedās Point Pub & Grill), and even a chance to paint your own martini glass. Admission is by donation, with all proceeds supporting breast cancer patients.
The event benefits the Erin Appleby Breast Health Fund, created in memory of Erin Appleby, a Hampton High graduate who passed away from breast cancer at just 30. Managed by the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, the fund helps patients cover household expenses during treatment. Over 10 years, Denise Miller and her amazing team of volunteers have raised over $100,000 to support this cause.
