🛍️ Meet the Right Good Crew

In partnership with:

Good morning, Saint John! Took an evening run down to St. George last night for a bite at Birch Grove. Our waitress pitched the blueberry cream pie and while I took dirty looks from the folks at the next table, I had to order a second piece. She said it’s only around for a short time, so if you’re thinking of a mini road trip, your moment is here...🫐

Here’s the lowdown for the day:

  • Right Good pop-up rocks the north end 🌞

  • NBA star to become UNB alumni 🎓

  • The lobster that got away 🌊

Enjoy your Thursday!

TALK OF THE TOWN
🛍️  Right Good Pop Up goes big in the park

This Saturday, the Right Good Pop Up takes over Victoria Square Park in the Old North End. Over 25 vendors including vintage thrifters, makers, tarot readings, and even tattoos are lining up for what the ladies behind it promise will be the perfect sunny Saturday vibe. “In a perpetually online world, we’re all desperate for some real genuine interactions, and we’re trying to provide the opportunity for that,” said Danielle Manuel, founder of Right Good. “It’s somewhere to wear a fun fit, and be home before 5 pm.”

Right Good started as a doodle back in 2023 while Danielle was working on another project. A lifelong thrift obsessive, trained by her mom, Danielle shared how she needed a better way to rotate her wardrobe. “I’ve always had an unnecessary amount of clothing because I love to play in my closet and craft an outfit,” she said. Selling online had become a tedious time-suck, so she figured she could put that effort into planning a pop up with fellow fashion-obsessed friends.

Two years later, that little sketch has grown into a recognizable logo for a growing group of thrifters and creators across the region. Together with Sara Doucette and Emma Blois, Danielle turned a closet-cleaning obsession into a full-on fashion-meets-connection pop up. “We were brought together through our love of thrifting (and each other), the power of a good fit, and a drive to build something for like-minded friends,” Danielle explained.

This weekend is their biggest yet — outdoors for the first time, it’s basically a full-on fashion fair. Live music kicks off with Austin Eatman at 12:30, and the Gahan House food truck will be serving up eats and drinks in the beer garden park! They’ve managed to license the entire event, so you can sip, shop, and soak up the vibes all in one spot.

“We want people to bring their blankets, picnic in the park, and leave with some cool new digs,” Danielle said. “For us, it feels like a big step toward growing and cultivating our little community, and we’re so excited to share it.”

NEWS NOTES

🏀 Siakam Scores a UNB Degree

NBA champ Pascal Siakam is heading to UNB…not to dunk, but to pick up an honorary degree. The former Raptor’s PS43 Foundation helped launch a $200K scholarship fund with UNB, opening doors for students from his home country of Cameroon. He’ll be at the Currie Center in Freddy Sept. 3 for the ceremony (yes, you can get tickets).

🦞 Lobster Takes a Road Trip

A Grand Manan lobster decided home was too small and swam all the way to Cape Cod. Tagged by researcher Heather Koopman, she turned up 250 days later near Provincetown, a record-breaking trek of 220 nautical miles (and probably a few scenic detours).

“She just goes wherever she wants,” Koopman said. Honestly…same.
