Good morning, Saint John! It’s Friday, and if you’re working from home today while vacuuming the house, folding laundry, or just enjoying an episode of Maury (is that still a show?), one police sergeant overseas has a helpful tip: don’t wedge a picture frame on your keyboard to make it look like you’re working. She tried that trick to keep her laptop active during shifts…until the keystroke data showed she was apparently typing three to eight times more than everyone else. The pro move is a fake meeting with no one on the other end…not that we would ever do that.

Here’s a few more helpful tips this morning:

  • Would you buy this summer card ☀️

  • New community hub opens uptown 🌍

  • Your weekend plans start here 🎟️

Have a fantastic weekend!

RVR DAYS ARE BACK!

Some car ads whisper. But not this one!

The RVR is Mitsubishi’s compact SUV that somehow checks every box. Sporty look, smart tech, and one of the best on gas in the country. Perfect for Saint John winters, grocery runs, hockey gear, and everything else life throws in the back seat.

The only catch is...when March ends, this deal ends.

So if your current vehicle has started making new and exciting noises every morning, this might be the sign.

NEWS NOTES

🌍 New community hub opens uptown

The Saint John Newcomers Centre has opened a new SJNC Community Hub at 75 Prince William Street Uptown, a flexible gathering space designed for workshops, meetings, cultural celebrations and community events.

The goal is simple. Give newcomers, community groups and local partners a shared place downtown to run programs, host events and work together under one roof.

WHERE WERE WE WEDNESDAY? 📸

📍 On Wednesday we shared a super close-up from a photo that’s been making the rounds on local social media. It was a throwback to the old AQ Tavern sign, but no one seemed to recognize the hydrant in the shot. Shout out to all the former student party night veterans…better luck next week.
