Festival-Wide Fun

Fundy Winterfest Kickoff Giveaway | January 17–30
Fundy Winterfest kicks things off with a region-wide giveaway packed with winter gear and local goodies. The prize bundle includes two sets of snowshoes, a sled, a shovel, swag from all six communities, and gift cards. Entries are open on the Fundy Winterfest Facebook page, with the winner drawn and announced January 30.

Frosty Finds Challenge | January 25–February 7
Take part in the region-wide Winterfest scavenger hunt as Saint John hides its secret cache somewhere public. Follow the clues, find the cache, and punch your ballot to earn entries toward Winterfest prizes. Ballots are available at City Hall or online, with photo hints shared on the Fundy Winterfest Facebook page.

KV Brewskis & Frostbites | January 17–March 8
A self-guided winter food and drink adventure across the Kennebecasis Valley. Visit 11 participating local businesses, collect stamps, and enter to win prizes along the way. Maps can be picked up at participating locations or local town halls, with completed ballots due by March 9. This event is for ages 19+.

Free Snowshoe Rentals at River & Trail | January 17–March 8
Rothesay residents and visitors can borrow adult and youth snowshoes for free throughout Fundy Winterfest. Rentals are available at River & Trail Outdoor Company with advance reservations required. A refundable damage deposit and photo ID are needed, and snowshoes must be returned the day after pickup.

Where Is Winter Waldo & Woof? | January 17–March 8
Winter Waldo is back — and this year he’s brought his buddy Woof along. Head out on Rothesay’s trail system and see if you can spot them along the way. Snap a photo and submit it for a chance to win while enjoying a self-guided winter walk around town.

January 17–23 · Hampton

Hampton kicks off Fundy Winterfest with a packed weekend of family-friendly events.

Frosty Finds Challenge | January 17–18
Think of this as a community scavenger hunt with a Winterfest twist. A small “cache” is hidden somewhere public in Hampton, and once it’s found, participants punch their ballot to collect entries toward Winterfest prizes. Ballots can be printed at home or picked up at Hampton Town Hall, and the hunt runs all weekend.

2nd Annual SNOWBall Tournament | January 17
Teams hit the field for a full day of winter fun at Hampton’s second annual SNOWBall Tournament. Expect games, food, a home run derby in support of charity, and plenty of action for spectators. Games run at Veterans’ Field and Ronald Mahoney Memorial Field from 8am–4:45pm, with limited team spots available.

2nd Annual Cookie Crawl | January 17
For $20, cookie lovers can check in at the Hampton Visitor Information Centre, grab a map and cookie box, and make their way through town collecting treats from participating businesses. Advance tickets are required, and all 12 cookies must be collected by 3pm.

Genealogy Workshop with Kings County Museum | January 17
Families are invited to explore their roots during a free, hands-on genealogy workshop hosted by the Kings County Museum. Participants will learn how to start building a family tree and share stories together. The workshop runs from 1–4pm at 27 Centennial Rd, with registration required by email.

Hampton Community Bonfire | January 17
A classic winter gathering with s’mores, music, and community cheer. Residents are invited to gather around the fire at the Mike Murphy Memorial Field House, where the Hampton Fire Department will also be on site with a fire truck for kids to check out. The bonfire runs from 5–7pm and is free to attend.

Find Frostbite on the Dutch Point Trail | January 18
Bundle up and hit the Dutch Point Trail to see how many Frostbites you can spot along the way. Participants grab a punch card, complete the challenge, and enter a draw to win a prize. This self-paced winter adventure runs from 10am–4pm and is perfect for families.

Pet Portraits at Kit N Kaboodle | January 18
Kit N Kaboodle is hosting winter-themed pet portraits, offering photos for $10 each along with in-store deals and treats for furry guests. A fun stop for pet owners looking to capture a seasonal keepsake, running from 12–5pm at 1032 Main St.

T-Shirt Making Workshop with Cinnamon Fern | January 18
Get creative during a hands-on T-shirt painting workshop with Cinnamon Fern. Participants will paint their own “Lost in the Forest” tee using machine-washable paint, with cookies and hot cocoa included. The workshop runs from 1–3pm at the Hampton Visitor Information Centre, with registration required.

Snow, Fire, and Fun at Forest Lane Domes | January 18
Families are invited to spend the afternoon at Forest Lane Domes enjoying bonfires, winter games like cornhole and axe throwing, snowball targets, and tours of the dome camping sites. Activities run from 1:30–5:30pm at 396 Guthrie Rd.

Polar Paws Pups & Pints at Hampton Brewing Co. | January 18
A pet-friendly happy hour where on-leash dogs are welcome to join their humans for drinks, outdoor fire pits, and good conversation. Polar Paws runs from 2–4pm at Hampton Brewing Company and is a relaxed way to wrap up the weekend.

January 23–25 · Fundy-St. Martins

Winterfest heads to beautiful Fundy–St. Martins for a packed weekend of community fun.

Spaghetti Supper | January 23
Kick off Winterfest with a classic spaghetti supper, served with all the fixings. Dine in with friends or grab takeout to enjoy at home. Meals are $15 each, running from 5:30–7:30pm at the Community Centre, 73 Main St.

A Celestial Get-Together | January 23
Cliff Valley Astronomy hosts a winter stargazing night celebrating a rare celestial alignment of the Moon, Saturn, and Neptune. This outdoor experience runs from 6:30–8:30pm at the Fundy–St. Martins Amphitheatre in Harbour Park, with a storm date of January 24.

Municipal Cup Hockey Tournament | January 24
Local teams hit the ice for a full day of hockey as they compete for the Municipal Cup. Expect plenty of rivalry, spectators, and a canteen on site. Games run from 10:30am–5:30pm at the 4 Season Complex, 2551 Route 111.

Tile Painting | January 24
Paint a tile and leave your mark on the community. Finished tiles will be displayed at the 4 Season Complex for years to come. Tiles cost $2 each, with painting running from 12–2pm at the Community Centre, 73 Main St.

Snowman Making & Snow Decorating | January 24
Snow much fun for all ages. Build a snowman or decorate the snow on the soccer field during this free, drop-in activity from 12–5pm at the 4 Season Complex soccer field.

Sliding Party | January 24
Grab your sled and hit the hill for some classic winter fun. Sliding runs from 2–4pm and is all about laughs and fresh air.

Photo Scavenger Hunt | January 24
Work as a team to capture photos from a themed checklist highlighting the beauty of Fundy–St. Martins. The hunt begins at 1pm and requires a vehicle.

Polar Dip | January 24
Take a quick plunge into the Bay of Fundy and wash away the winter blues. The dip happens at 3:30pm and is always a crowd favourite.

Glow in the Dark Skate | January 24
Lace up for a glow-in-the-dark skate with glow sticks for kids and plenty of fun on the ice. Runs from 6:30–8:30pm at the 4 Season Complex.

Fireworks | January 24
End Saturday with a fireworks show lighting up the sky behind the 4 Season Complex. Starts at 9pm.

Guided Beach Walk | January 25
Explore the snow-covered St. Martins Sea Caves on a guided walk led by Fundy Biosphere Region and Stonehammer Geopark. Starts at 12pm at Mac’s Beach Parking Lot. Dress for rocky, wet conditions.

Community Thank You & Scoreboard Celebration | January 25
Stop by the 4 Season Complex at 12:30pm to thank sponsors supporting the scoreboard fundraiser and cheer on the newly branded Zamboni.

Skate with Fleaburn | January 25
Hit the ice with Fleaburn from the Saint John Sea Dogs during this community skate from 1–3pm at the 4 Season Complex. Inflatable costumes welcome, prizes up for grabs.

January 25–February 6 · Saint John

Puzzle Challenge | January 25–February 1
Race the clock to complete a 500-piece puzzle in under two hours at the Saint John Free Public Library’s Central Branch. Compete solo or in teams of up to four, with daily time slots available. Advance registration is required by phone or email.

Rockwood Glows | January 31
Rockwood Park transforms into a full-on winter playground for this all-day, all-ages Winterfest celebration. From morning through evening, visitors can explore lantern making, astronomy activities, photo ops, guided hikes with First Nations storytellers, snowshoeing, face painting, and skating on Lily Lake. As night falls, the park comes alive with bonfires, DJ music, food vendors, a Saint John Skating Club performance, and the first-ever drone light show over Lily Lake at 7pm. Rockwood Glows runs from 10am–8pm and is completely free, making it one of the biggest and most family-friendly Winterfest events of the season.

Winterlicious Chop Chop Restaurant Week | January 26–February 1
Uptown Saint John’s Winterlicious Chop Chop returns with special menus and plenty of excuses to explore local restaurants, warm up, and enjoy the neighbourhood during this week-long dining event.

Saint John Sea Dogs Skills Competition | February 5
Watch Sea Dogs players show off their skills during this on-ice competition at Peter Murray Arena from 5:45–6:45pm. Free public skating follows immediately afterward.

Chocolate-Making & Handcrafted Flower Bouquet Workshop | February 14
Drop by the City Market Solarium for a hands-on workshop combining chocolate-making and handcrafted floral design. Runs from 10am–12pm, with no registration required while supplies last.

Learn to Crochet Granny Squares | February 7
Learn the basics of crocheting granny squares during this casual, drop-in workshop at the Saint John City Market Solarium. Runs from 10am–12pm, with no registration required while supplies last.

February 1–25 · Rothesay

Toques off to Rothesay for delivering a ton of Winterfest events throughout February. Don’t forget about their groomed trails and additional skating at the common!

Moonlight Snowshoe, Hike & Astronomy Observation | February 1
A nighttime snowshoe and hike on the Wells Recreation Trails followed by stargazing with powerful telescopes. Participants can observe planets, star clusters, and nebulae before warming up by a bonfire with hot chocolate. Runs from 6:30–8:30pm and is open to all ages.

Time Travel Skate | February 4
Skate through the decades during this themed outdoor skate on the Rothesay Common. Music from past eras sets the vibe, and costumes inspired by your favourite decade are encouraged. The free, family-friendly skate runs from 6–8pm, with hot chocolate available and food bank donations welcome.

Winter Carnival on the Common | February 7
A longtime Rothesay winter tradition returns with skating, snowshoeing, horse and trolley rides, face painting, balloon art, marshmallow roasting, and more. Activities take place on the Rothesay Common and inside the Rothesay Park School cafeteria from 2–4pm.

Glow in the Dark Skate | February 11
Light up the ice during this glow-filled evening skate on the Rothesay Common. Wear neon or white to shine under the lights while enjoying glow sticks, music, and a fun winter atmosphere. The free skate runs from 6–8pm.

DJ Skate with DJ Steve | February 18
An outdoor skate under the stars with live DJ beats keeping things moving on the ice. This free, family-friendly skate runs from 6–8pm at the Rothesay Common.

Skate with the SJ Sea Dogs | February 25
Hit the ice for a special community skate with members of the Saint John Sea Dogs. Wear your favourite hockey jersey and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly evening on the Rothesay Common from 6–8pm.

February 10–20 · Quispamsis

Quispamsis goes big for Winterfest with community events, Family Day fun, and plenty of reasons to get outside — plus ongoing sliding and groomed trails available all winter.

Enjoy Life Expo for 50+ | February 10
A wellness and lifestyle expo designed to inspire adults aged 50+ to live vibrant, active lives. Drop in to explore recreation opportunities, volunteer options, and community resources during this free event from 6–7:30pm at the McCluskey Brothers Conference Centre inside the qplex. Storm date is February 11.

KV Walkers Winter Snowshoe | February 13
Bring your snowshoes and join the KV Walkers for this annual Winterfest outing exploring the qplex trail system. The group meets at 1:15pm at the Centennial and James Rolfe sports fields parking lot. Poles and ice cleats are welcome, and the route may include the Trail of Hearts. Weather dependent, with a storm date of February 20.

Kids Art Workshop with Artist Fabiola | February 12
Children aged 6–12 are invited to create a small piece of art during this free, hands-on workshop at the Kennebecasis Public Library. The session runs from 6:30–7:30pm and requires advance registration by email. Space is limited.

Valentine’s Pop-Up Community Market | February 14
Browse a variety of local vendors while searching for the perfect Valentine’s gift at this pop-up market inside the qplex. While you’re there, enjoy hockey action, walk the indoor track, or head outside to explore the trails.

Family Day at the qplex | February 16
Family Day brings something for everyone, including a free afternoon skate from 2:45–4pm, family-friendly games in the Conference Centre, an all-day U11 hockey tournament, the Trail of Hearts, and light refreshments. Outdoor skating may also be available at Arts & Culture Park, weather permitting.

Trail of Hearts Evening Walk | February 20
Enjoy a winter walk along the illuminated Trail of Hearts at the qplex. This free evening experience invites visitors to explore the lighted trail system, with parking available in the east lot at 20 Randy Jones Way.

Adult Drop-In Volleyball | Wednesdays
Stay active during Winterfest with weekly adult drop-in volleyball at Chris Saunders Memorial Elementary School. Open to ages 18+, games run from 7:30–9:30pm with a $5 drop-in fee.

Valentine’s Bingo Night | February 15
A big community bingo night at the Quispamsis Lions Club featuring early bird games, jackpot rounds, and plenty of chances to win. Doors open at 4:30pm, with games starting at 6:30pm.

Big Breakfast at the Lions Club | March 7
One of two community breakfasts during Winterfest, the popular Big Breakfast serves up a hearty morning meal at the Quispamsis Lions Club. Breakfast is $12 per adult, with family rates available.
