Good morning, Saint John! KD cheesecake is officially a thing. Ten-year-old me would've begged my mom to buy a whole cake. Forty-year-old me wants to know if there's an Annie's version.

NEWS NOTES
🔔 The City Market bell is ringing again
One of Saint John's oldest sounds is making a comeback.
The City will unveil the Saint John City Market's newly restored historic bell Tuesday at 11am, marking another milestone in the ongoing renovation project. The event will also introduce a refreshed Market brand, giving the 154-year-old building a bit of a facelift without touching the wrinkles.
Visitors can check out the latest renovation progress, see the bell up close and get a preview of a new collaboration with Java Moose that's still being kept under wraps…Because apparently even coffee gets teaser trailers now.
🤞 Good luck tonight
Monday…Funday! Just don't take the bridge tonight.
The Harbour Bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting at 3 p.m., with two full closures of about 20 minutes each scheduled between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. for ongoing construction work.
Nobody knows exactly when those closures will happen, which adds a fun little mystery to the evening commute. If your plans involve crossing the harbour, the Reversing Falls Bridge might be your best friend tonight.
LOCAL BUSINESS
🕯️ Candles replace keys on Princess Street
A new business is bringing a different kind of scent to the former McKees Keys space.
Local candle maker Eloise and Oliver announced it will open its first retail store and candle studio at 107 Princess St. on July 4. Along with its own products, the shop plans to carry other local brands, home goods and specialty products from across Canada and beyond.
You'll also be able to pick up online orders right where the candles are made.
THIS WEEK’S COUNCIL MEETINGS
⚖️ Saint John Council Meeting - June 15 | 6pm
Summer events season kicks into high gear - Council will receive an overview of the City's summer events lineup, including Passport to Parks, Night Markets, Canada Day celebrations, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Canadian Multiculturalism Day and support for major community events like AREA 506, Pride and Moonlight Bazaar.
Crosswalk upgrade planned during Harbour Bridge work - Council will consider a funding agreement for pedestrian-activated flashing beacons at the Chesley Drive and Fort LaTour Drive crosswalk, helping improve a key Harbour Passage detour route during Harbour Bridge rehabilitation.
St. Peter's fundraising campaign moves forward - Council will consider an agreement allowing the Greater Saint John Community Foundation to accept donations and issue charitable tax receipts for the St. Peter's Ballfield revitalization project, which is seeking $50,000 in community support.
Mini-home park expansion returns for procedural do-over - A previously approved expansion of a mini-home park near Rex Hurley Boulevard and Glen Road is heading back through the planning process after a provincial subdivision created a new property identification number, requiring the approvals to be repeated.
Meeting starts at 6pm at City Hall, with the public welcome in person or to watch Rogers TV and via live stream.
