đ Big Spring Deal: One Free Bag
Good morning Saint John! Even with golf courses opening and folks heading into the woods to spot feathered friends, the only birdies on my mind this spring are the ones outside my window every morning singing âcheeeeese-bur-ger.â đ
Hereâs what else weâre hearing today:
Free bag oâ trash đ§š
Like Thorogood saidâŚmove it on over ⏠ď¸
Ever been on the TV? đş
Happy hump day!

NEWS NOTES
đď¸ Extra Trash? Hereâs a Freebie
Itâs spring cleaning season, and the City of Saint John wants to help you part ways with your junk⌠but letâs not get carried away. The cityâs giving each household one bonus garbage bag for free pickup, no tag needed. Weekly pickups get the extra-bag grace during the week of May 5, and bi-weekly folks can haul theirs to the curb on their regular day between May 5 and 16.
Got more than one bag in your spring clean? (Yeah - thatâs unacceptableâŚ) Youâll need a $2 tag for each additional bag. And donât forgetâbulky items like couches and carpet can be picked up, but youâve got to call ahead. All the recycling, composting, and waste-sorting wisdom lives at fundyrecycles.com.
đ¨ Move Over, Or Pay Up
Saint John Police are running a Slow Down Move Over campaign now through May 2, and hereâs the deal: if you blow past flashing lights without slowing down or switching lanes, itâll cost you $292.50 and three demerit points.
The rule? Drop to half the speed limit and move over, safely, for any emergency or service vehicle. That includes cops, ambulances, tow trucks, and road crews.
đŹ Wanna Be on TV?
Hereâs your chance to go from watching Bell Fibe to being on it. A new short-form series is filming right here in Saint John this July, and theyâre on the hunt for both cast and crew. No union card? No problem. No experience? Still no problem.
Thereâs an open casting call this Saturday, May 3, from 10am to 4pm at the Saint John Arts Centre, and everyoneâs welcome to try out. They're looking for all kinds of roles â think actors and behind-the-scenes help (yes, you with the clipboard and a dream).
You can check out the full casting details here and send your crew resumes to [email protected].
